A practical telehealth workflow for peptide prescribing

PeptideClinicians editorial team · [MEDICAL/CLINICAL REVIEWER – JOHN TO CONFIRM]

Telehealth can extend a peptide program well beyond your exam rooms, but it works best with a defined workflow.

Synchronous vs. asynchronous

A synchronous visit is a live, real-time video encounter. An asynchronous visit uses a structured questionnaire the clinician reviews on their own schedule, with follow-up messaging as needed. Requirements for which is acceptable vary by state and medication. [STATE-BY-STATE NOTES – JOHN TO REVIEW]

A typical flow

  1. Patient intake and identity verification.
  2. Health history, medication list and goals; labs where indicated.
  3. Clinician evaluation (live or async) and informed consent.
  4. Prescription sent to a licensed pharmacy; shipping to the patient.
  5. Scheduled follow-ups to assess response and side effects and adjust the plan.
